Mini VaderMy first love before the balloon bug bit me was making Halloween costumes. I wanted to become a special effects make up artist for the movies, but only made it to the amateur level for myself and my family. My girlfriend's son, Jesse wanted to be Darth Vader for Halloween this year so I sewed him this costume. I made the shoulder pads, chestplate, and shin guards from a plastic storage container, a blow torch, epoxy putty, and paint. I sewed the gloves, shirt, and pants from vinyl. I made the belt from vinyl, nylon webbing, and parts from Radio Shack. The light saber and voice changer mask were the only store bought stuff here. I still need some kind of boots for him but I have a month left to do it. |
